Reporter Magazine Election Edition Promotion

Technically Speaking | Fall 2024

Social Media and Promotion

As part of our work with Reporter Magazine, our team developed a promotional campaign for the November issue, which focused on the upcoming presidential election. While Reporter has a strong visual identity, student engagement—especially with print—had been low. The goal of this campaign was to generate campus-wide buzz and encourage students to not only pick up a copy, but engage with its content and share it with others.

We took a multi-platform approach that included print, social, email, and in-person outreach. Our team designed posters to be distributed across campus, launched an Instagram campaign teasing the issue’s theme, and posted article snippets alongside custom illustrations. We also created interactive story content, including polls and quizzes related to the election, and drafted email outreach for political science professors to help promote the issue in relevant courses.

Social Media and Promotion

To support the magazine’s physical release, we coordinated a tabling event in the SAU during launch week to distribute copies and engage with students face-to-face. While the tabling was kept simple, it helped increase visibility and gave students a chance to connect with the content in person. Each part of the campaign worked together to strengthen Reporter’s presence on campus and position it as a relevant source for student-focused news and conversation.
