Call for Submissions
For Reporter’s annual Art and Photo Edition, we kicked off a campuswide promotion encouraging students to submit original artwork and photography. This edition acts as a contest, with the opportunity to be featured in both the print magazine and across our digital platforms. Our team promoted the call for submissions through social media, classroom outreach, and in-person efforts—aiming to give as many student creatives as possible a chance to be seen.
All submissions were reviewed and judged by our editorial team. We evaluated the work based on creativity, impact, and visual storytelling. Selected pieces were featured throughout the edition, and one standout was chosen to appear on the cover. This gave artists the chance to be published, promoted, and celebrated by the RIT community.

Magazine Launch & Social Media Promo
To mark the release, we tabled in the Student Alumni Union, handing out copies and talking with students about the artists and their work. These in-person moments helped bring visibility to our contributors and reconnected our publication to the campus community.
After the launch, we kept the momentum going with a longform Instagram campaign. Every Tuesday and Thursday for 2–3 months, we spotlighted one featured artist—sharing their work, story, and creative process. This gave each submission continued visibility and drove traffic to both our magazine and our social platforms.
